Thank You.

Hey everyone. I know it’s been a little while since I’ve posted, and it’s because I’ve been SO busy with everything going on this semester. Because of this, I’m dedicating all of my winter break to revamping myself as a photographer.

This means I’ll be trying to brand myself as a company, looking into more legitimate contracts and printing packages to offer, and creating a professional website. This will be my last post on this blog. The new website will offer me a lot more professionalism, and I’m growing older and I need to start taking my business decisions a little more seriously.

I’m leaving this blog up, and I’ll post the new website when it’s finished. But I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the continued support as I’ve grown as a photographer, an artist, and as a person. I wouldn’t be where I am without all of you and I’ve treasured every person I’ve had the pleasure of taking photos of.

Paul + Elizabeth. Thorpewood Wedding.

Two weekends ago, I had the honor of being the photographer for Paul + Elizabeth’s special day. The day was literally perfection… The sun was out, the breeze was nice, and love was in the air.

Sydney Szparaga Senior Portraits Session

I’ve been taking a LOT of senior portraits this summer. I haven’t posted many of them to my blog here, but I wanted to highlight Sydney’s session because it was one of my favorites I’ve done so far.

Stressing the Composition

I’ve been doing a lot of digging on Facebook lately to follow different photographers that inspire me. The trend with all of these that I’ve followed, I’ve found, is that they’re all masters of the square composition. I’ve never gone into editing a shoot thinking about different compositions than the typical 2×3 format, so I figured I would try it out with this shoot.

Robyn Rogers Senior Portraits

This summer has been packed with Senior Portrait sessions. I really love doing these shoots because I get to meet all kinds of new people, and each shoot produces different results. Unlike some senior pictures places, I strive to make sure that the photos look fresh and new each time, so that two friends don’t have the same pose in the same location.

Experimenting

I’ve always believed that the more stuff you look at, the better your work will be. For this shoot, I was inspired by Kyle Thompson’s photography Facebook page. His work is phenomenal, especially his self-portraits. I really loved his use of smoke and other things in his work, so I did a little research and figured out how he did it, and tried doing it myself! I really suggest you check out his stuff!

Letterform Poster

I just realized I never posted this! For my Typography class, we had an open ended final. I did a shoot of a dancer, Nicole, and stitched them all together into a poster. Ladies and gents, the alphabet made out of human poses!! I loved how this turned out, and it’s going to be a great portfolio piece.

Mackenzie Carter Senior Portraits

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking Mackenzie’s senior pictures. I was so happy with how they turned out, I figured I would highlight them on my blog!
